FAQ
-
No experience needed! All games are beginner friendly and hosted by an experience GM (game master) who makes each game fun and accessible for both new, intermediate, and experienced players.
-
Although many games are 5e (fifth edition) Dungeons & Dragons, other games are available. Most events are “one-shot” game sessions (an entire story in one session) but ongoing campaigns with multiple sessions may become available, based on demand. Custom games can also be requested by contacting us. Game settings can be adjusted to include dark fantasy, gothic or cosmic horror, science fiction, post-apocalyptic, and many other genres.
-
Hosted game event pricing typically varies from $20-25 per person but increases slightly for custom games. Special promotional games may be offered at little or no cost (with the costs being covered by the host or venue).
-
The GM or gamemaster serves as a guide guide and narrator, describing the setting and scenes for players who then decide how their characters will interact with the game world and NPCs (non-player characters). The GM creates the foundation and “vibe” of the game world, explains game rules, and guides players on when to roll dice to determine the outcome of specific actions or events. The GM makes sure the game runs smoothly, works to maintain pacing, and helps answer players’ questions. However, the GM does not create the story. They co-create a unique story with players by allowing them to make decisions, experiment, and try things.
-
Although players are welcome to bring their own dice, the GM will provide dice, pencils, character sheets, and any other gaming essentials for players who don’t have these items.
-
We require a minimum of three players to run a game. If fewer than two players sign up, the event will be cancelled and we will issue a refund to those players.
-
If you can’t make it to your event, please submit a cancellation request. We cannot provide refunds but can transfer your purchase to a future event if submitted 48+ hours prior to the event start time. Either way, please notify us a.s.a.p. so your group isn’t waiting for you to arrive.
-
Currently, our games are designed for an 18+ audience (21+ in some locations). However, we can assist with organizing an all-ages event at the local game library or a local game store, upon request.
