Altered West, our brand-new gonzo horror-western TTRPG has just dropped on itch.io!
This game has been in the works for 6+ months and we’re stoked to finally make the “bare bones” version available.
What's this game about?
In this tabletop roleplaying game, players take on the role of a mutated individual located somewhere in “Meteor Alley” (a.k.a. the irradiated frontier) during the late 19th century. To create a character, they will choose a name or “moniker.” Next, they'll roll a random background and flaw. Then they roll for two random mutations that make their character unique (one functional, one cosmetic). Finally, they'll roll for starting gear, attributes, and hit points. That’s it!
This game is light on rules and heavy on just about everything else.
Compatible with Mork Borg
Altered West is a stand-alone horror-western OSR TTRPG compatible with Mork Borg and other "borg" games. All content is 100% human-created and written with zero AI.

What's in the "Bare Bones" Edition?
The "Bare Bones Edition" includes everything you need to play, including rules for creating a unique character (and a character sheet), mutations, gear, combat, shooting, quickdraw duels, NPCs, monsters, obelisks, and more. You can play and enjoy the entire game with just this edition.
So... Will There Be More?
HELL YES! The "Fully Loaded Edition" of Altered West (coming fall 2026) will include full-color artwork, additional setting info and optional rules, more random tables, more freakish monsters and enemies, the four horsemen of the mutocalypse, 10+ unique western settings, and TWO one-shot adventures for 2-5 players.
